Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee

I am not a fan of pan mee because i really don't know how to appreciate thick flat noodle in plain soup. Someone then introduced to me chilli pan mee. It's a totally different style of dried pan mee compare to the conventional soupy kind. I started googling on some food blog to find out which restaurant offer the nicest pan mee in town and all i can say is Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee wins hands down. So here is my review about it eventhough so many people had written theirs.

Reading on all the reviews, most complained about the boss bad temperament. I was so ready to get an experience of the mad dog barking but to my surprise, the service was really good. Our orders were taken once we were seated and in no time everything were served. Might be due to nonpeak time because when we were there, there's only a few tables occupied.

Kin Kin Restaurant is situated very near to tune hotel downtown. It's quite hard to find because it's located behind a small street. If you are looking for a decent clean environment, it's highly not recommended to come here. The street looks a bit scary with rubbish piled up at one side and not many people around. I don't know about normal days but it might be due to merdeka day the street looked deserted.

The long awaited chilli pan mee. Don't be fool, it doesn't taste like mee goreng. I expected it to taste like mee goreng because some of the pictures in the food reviews looked really tempting.

It come with a soup in case the mee is too dry for your liking.

Chili flakes. This is what makes the chili pan mee unique. Be warned not to put too much because the seed really can upset your stomach. I suffered indigestion for the whole day. But if you don't put the chili flakes then it wouldn't be nice.

If the chili flakes don't satisfy your spicy crave, do add the chili padi.

...and I am sure by then you will feel the flame in your mouth. You need a fire-engine to put out the flame.

Anyway for me, like i say, i am not a fan of pan mee. I think the mee was overrated. I prefer my mee goreng with egg.

Hey Lee May!

It's been a while since I last talked to you, I think it was um... 3 years ago? Anyway, nice blog you have here. Nobody updates their blogs anymore these days. Strangely enough most of the entries written here don't sound like you - they sound too serious, especially the one on transferring blog.

Let me know the next time you guys are in town (Melaka, that is). I hardly ever see anyone after graduation!
