coffee after a bad call..HIGHLY recommended if needed to use brain power for work. me? hell yeah!
This week was my turn to oncall. Yes, one whole week. Because we are in a small hospital and lacking of man power, i practically need to oncall for 7 times a month. Previously i had the privileged to choose the days i wanted to oncall but now not so much. My boss took over my job of arranging the oncall schedule. i prefer my oncalls to be straight for 1 week rather than scattered throughout the month because then i can relaxed for the rest of the month after i suffered for the one week.
Anyway, this week oncalls were terrible. Got called at 7pm to supply lifesaving drugs because 3 patients were intubated at the same time. The ward was in a chaos. At 11pm got called again to supply yet another life saving drug. I thought that was a wrap for the day but i was wrong. I got called at 6.30am. I was blur and it took me half a minute to think before answering a simple question. Went to supply the drugs at 6.30am in my pyjamas and was thinking if i should go back to sleep afterall i need to get up at 7.15am to work. Decided to go pumped petrol instead. When it was my turn to pump suddenly the electricity went out. How 'lucky' i was. I should buy myself 4D or something. Got myself to another station and manage to pump. I was lucky to have a course on that day. Spare me from all the pharmacy work for a day. TIRED!
Officially finished my oncall today. Weee! Time to get some sleep.
