nine emperor gods festival

some say they were warriors who died in war and ppl were touched by their great fighting spirit, they made them emperor gods. others say they were the sons of the jade god. it is also believed that they were the sons of the god of water. well whatever it is, it is a festival that are celebrated by many every year since god knows. LOL! pardon me for having very little knowledge on this. i am not even half taoist myself. i dun even know how to pray properly. if i was disturbed by 'dirty' things, i just call every gods of all religions. to make matter worse i cant speak perfect hokkien. i hope god understand english. LOL!!

in penang, this festival is quite a big event. you can see lots of stall selling vegetarian food. it is something like pasar ramadan where stalls are set up beside the road only its run by chinese. LOL! i am not really sure on the ritual of eating vegetarian. if i am not wrong, u can either choose 1, 3 or 9 days to eat vegetarian food. anyway this is not the main point of this post. the main focus of this post is the million dollar temple in raja uda. let me introduced u all to the kao wong ya temple.


the cost of this temple is a few millions and still counting. i dun even know if its already finish. they might continue building somemore because everytime i come there's new stuff, new building, new gate. who knows wat is next. this is just the front gate.

if you havent notice, there's lots and lots of dragon around. everywhere you turn you will see a dragon believe me. thats y i say must be god of water's sons


air pollution contribution. in no time, artic will be history since its just an island now. yeah..thats how bad our earth situation now and what m i doing? blogging and consuming more electricity. such an a$$ being me. LOL!!


this is one of the stuff u can see during this festival. the whole road will be block just to give way to this festival. yes this festival is very big here till everything have to give way to them. hahaha. there were lots of floats and ppl but i lazy to put up. there were soooo many ppl there and if u dunno they are celebrating the festival, u might think there's a riot going on. LOL!
