Food in Melaka

It's easy to spot nice and famous food in Melaka. All you need to do is aim for the queue. Of course with the tropical weather and crowds to add more to the warmness, sometimes waiting can be a bit pissed off.

So first we dropped by jonker 88. It's easy to spot from far as there were always queue on weekends.

The selections of cendol. In Penang, cendol is just cendol. Here we have baba cendol, nyonya cendol, durian cendol, mango cendol and the list goes on.

What makes it unique is the gula Melaka.

Saw the durian cendol and I can't resist myself. I just need to try it

A lot of people but the turn around rate was fast. No worries there will be table for you. Interesting interior as there's bits and pieces that remind me of the good old days. Coal iron, old style fan, old picture frames. Definitely hit the baba & nyonya button if you are looking for some.

Apart from selling cendol, they do have laksa. Similar with cendol, they have a list of variety. A lil headache deciding which to choose.

The thought of eating rice in balls turned me off

Saw Jason outside this shop. Decided wth since I am already there might as well check out what's the huha about the balls.

There's actually no huha. Request only 3 balls from the aunty and surprisingly she entertain me. Lol. The chicken is good. The balls are not.

At the road beside jonker lies this pineapple tart shop that many says it's nice. I tried it and all I can say that it was one of the nicest. Unfortunately I already bought mine at another shop on jonker.

Looking for deserts after all the heavy food. We went in this cute shop hoping to cool off with it's aircondition only to find fan inside.

Blueberry cheese tart. I could taste real cheese. Very creamy and filling

Mango cheese. On the other hand this tart is so refreshing. Use fresh mango and not artificial flavouring.

Double chocolate crepe served in a cafe called nadaje. It's located at a row of shophouses beside mahkota parade. Highly recomended if you want to find a place to chill and escape from the heat. There's wifi there too.

Green tea crepe. I am not a tea person especially when it comes to Chinese/Japanese tea. Often people say everything about green tea are anazing. Be it ice cream, tea, cake or sorbet. I can tell you I hate the taste of green tea. So my review is it's too creamy for my liking.

Japanese hibiscus tea. Isn't this cheesy? The love stirer and the colour. Well once is enough. Lol.

Surprisingly they surf lavazza coffee but not as good as I think cuppucinno should taste like.

Simple salad. That's my lunch after spending the whole day eating.

Had enough of Malaysian street food. It's time to change to japanese. Saw a Japanese restaurant in mahkota parade and so coincidently it's their 15 years aniversary so all sushi are priced at 1.50 each. We called all the selection of sushis they have.

The sushis serve were fresh and greedy people like us felt like puking even before we could finish them.

Tofu unagi. Best to date. Never had anywhere near this nice.

Manage to get a taste of the famous satay celup at Capitol. Be there at 6 sharp because the later you reach, the longer you will have to queue. We waited around 5 minutes before we got our table. Not many people yet.

Be wise and wear thin breathable clothes. Imagine steamboat but with satay sauce.

Food on stick. There's a variety to choose from at a table counter inside the store. If you sit longer enough, they will bring more expensive varieties to your table. big prawns, abalone, squid.

Photo a bit blur but this is the only one i had on the sauce. This is the famous satay sauce. I think they mix 3 to 4 types of nuts in it. It's so nice you will crave for more even after catching a glimpse of a thick layer of oil floating in the sauce.

Nyonya kuih. We went to this famous house in Tengkera that sell lots of nyonya kuih. On the way to the house you have to pass through a very small lane approximately the size of one car. Best to park outside and walk through the small lane. If outstation people like us can find a house situated deep in tengkera, there will be no problem driving around in melaka.

That's all for my experience of Melaka food.
