If you think coconut water is refreshing on a hot day, try coconut jelly. The effect is 10 times more. Its like heaven going down your throat. yummy!
Over the last 3 weekends, i went to the property fair in gurney plaza organized by the star. Expecting to see a whole lot of companies parading their newest housing project and latest technology of household items, i was a bit disappointed. The previous fair held in PISA was much more bigger, consuming the whole stadium area. This time it only took areas of the ground floor of gurney's new wing and the second floor of G hotel which both combined were still smaller in scale compare to PISA. I assumed the reason behind with so little participation of companies must be due to the expensive rental space imposed by g hotel and gurney plaza. Most companies i talked to were either from kl or already well established. Of course in the sense of well established, companies marketed their brand more than the product itself. Product were overpriced and we knew it but still it did not stop us from buying. i know KLites cant agree more with me. It was the brand they are aiming for. But do Penangites apply the same concept? Can the brand overcome the price and the practical usage of a product in affecting the decision of buying for a Penangite? One thing for sure i know penangites are famous for is being 'economical'. You can called it stingy, kiamsiap or scrooge but penangites are practical people. When it comes to economics and maths, i think nobody can score A++ like they do. If the product is overpriced, we bargained like aunties in chatuchak market. If the product is nice but not practical, we would come back again and again to look at it like an art piece in an art gallery. And if the product doesn't worth it's price and we really want it badly, we can always travel up north to the big massive land above us to look for it at a cheaper price with the same quality and brand.
Anyway enough of divergence, lets get back to the property fair. Since i had nothing better to do, i attended the feng shui talk. I knew a thing or two on feng shui myself. With people like lilian too and joey yap publishing books, having talk seminars, and their own show, its hard not to be exposed to feng shui. Feng shui even now had spread to the west. In terms of believing in feng shui, it is kind of subjective to me. Take for example, they say don't sleep with the toilet door facing directly to any side of your bed. Its bad because depending on the part where the door is directed to, that part will be in trouble. Over 20 years, you sleep in such position and nothing happen. One would think feng shui is a bunch of crap. But when consulted with the feng shui master, it seemed that it all depends on the timing of your life. when you are at the high time of your life, all things were good, even with the tsunami chasing from behind, you will get out of it without a single scratch. When you are at your lowest, even sipping coffee at starbucks might kill you. caffeine overdosed? heart attack? car charging towards you? a bullet that wasn't supposed to be aim at you? Feng shui plays a part when life is at low. In a way similar to insurance, feng shui make things a little better, the bullet that wasn't supposed to aim at you might just hit your leg and you wont die of it. or the car charging towards you, might just left you with a fractured hand instead of paralyzed. If feng shui is like insurance, no harm for trying. Through the talk, I realized hiring a feng shui master is not cheap. They charged by square feet. The advise they gave and the amount you pay doesn't even guarantee the outcome. So feng shui in my opinion is an indulgence. Unless you are filthy rich till there's nowhere to channel the money to, then splurge it on hiring the fengshui master. If you are not quite there yet, i suggest to hit the book and create your own fengshui afterall everything you want to know is in print. And i mean literally everything! or if you really wants the fengshui master advise without wanting to pay a single cents, then attend their free talk like me and bombard as many questions as possible. i am sure he wont reject you in front of so many people. LOL!!
