income tax deadline is over. And i am over in complaining about how inefficient the tax officers are. ask my friends, they will tell you, i bitched about them nonstop day and night when i was doing my tax. i will stop bitching about them if they can do their work properly. Note that i say 'properly' instead of 'efficient' or 'effective'. properly is like the basic of all basics. pardon me but i need to blog this down for my failing memory. hehe
income tax was very new to me. like everyone else, i registered quite late because i knew nuts about it. went to the office and they directed me on how to register without explaining much. like a robot, i did what i needed to do. completed the e-filling in less than an hour. then this is where things started to get ugly.
i realized my annual payment was quite high compared to my other colleagues and i began to clarify with the office. they told me the amount printed was wrong. so i went back to the income tax office to make the amendment. at the registration counter i was told to write a letter to state the amendment clearly. i was frustrated and angry because i wasn't given a chance to explain my situation. i drove all the way back and typed the letter. i got even angrier the second time i went back because he just threw my letters/evidence on a tray of many more letters and shoo-ed me away. i was expecting to see someone to explain the situation i was in because i know with only the letter they will definitely make mistakes.
for the payment part the person asked me to manually count by myself and just pay like that. i was super confused because it's a bad idea to pay without a black and white. by that time my blood was boiling and he hit the button by saying 'i'm sure you scored A for your add maths, this is like drinking water to you' *shoved the formula book to my face* i told him i had no idea but he insist i should count by myself. luckily i found the customers service department and the people helped me out there. the point is when i asked the registration guy and the customer service guy the same question, i got 2 different answers. this is not the 1st time they don't know the answer. the worse was when i called KL HQ, the person don't know how to answer my questions too. they should do classes to educate all the officers in income tax so that they know how to educate us instead of us educating them back. i suspect they just accept anyone even those without proper training to work there.
conclusion i went to and fro 3 freaking times. first to type letter. second to give letter. third to do money order because according to them i cant pay through the bank. i was asked by the counter to pay through the bank after i did the money order. wanted to kill her right there.
